Our minds are like computer hard drives. Imagine walking around as a young child with your keyboard in hand. Parents, family members, teachers, schoolmates, even strangers type and upload all kinds of information into your hard drive (your mind). Sometimes incorrect and false information about who you are can be uploaded and you grow up believing it.
Parents especially (more than anyone else) must be aware that what they say will have either build self confidence or have a negative impact on their children and Who they grow up to be. If parents spend more time criticizing than praising a child, it can be harder for a kid to develop good self-esteem. Because teens are still forming their own values and beliefs, it's easy to build self-image around what a parent, coach, or other person says.
Self esteem gets damaged when teens and people in general aren't encouraged. Self-esteem can be damaged when someone whose acceptance is important (like a parent or teacher) constantly puts you down.
Teens can sometimes criticize themselves. When that type of thinking starts, then it grows and can often lead to depression. Statistics show that 70% of teens suffer from depression. Because of what's going on in a teens body, teens are trying to find and discover who they are.
Let's take charge and encourage our teens. Let them know how great they are. Encourage them to use Positive Self Talk. Positive Self talk is very important train ourselves to do no matter the age.

Words Have Meaning
What we allow to come out of our mouths is life. It's what we manifest.
We have heard and we have lived with them: Throughout the course of our lives many things have been said to us and we have spoken countless words to others ... some encouraging and some ... well, honestly, hurtful and not encouraging at all. So what happens? Why do we so vividly remember the things that were said to us? Why do they hurt? And why do we allow those things, that are most likely untrue, to change who we are and how we feel about ourselves?
It happens to the best of us. I once heard Tyra Banks, Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Phil talk about the hurtful words that remained with them from their childhood. No doubt they overcame this, judging where they are and who they are in this world. There is no need to feel alone.
But we have to do something. We can't just sit back and let life pass us by ... can we? This world, this economy isn't getting any better. We NEED positivity now more than ever. We have to share it. We have to live it.
Words have power. You have power. You have the power to choose the reaction to what is (and was) said that hurt and stuck with you. You have the power to change, for the better, what you think about yourself. Statistics say, that thinking positive may help you live longer. I believe it. Need help? Here's what helped me ... www.myiclouds.com

Positive Self-Talk, Thinking Positive, Retraining Your Mind
Do you experience times of negativity and have trouble changing your negative thoughts to positive ones?
Has anyone ever put you down? Does it still haunt you today? Or perhaps, you find it difficult to disregard the negative things that were said about you. You’re definitely not alone.
Each and every person in existence experiences times in their lives with the potential to mold their minds and thoughts—even character. Unfortunately, we can allow the negative events in our lives to alter our behavior and even our happiness.
We MUST make a conscious decision to do something about it. With Positive Self-Talk and Positive Affirmations, about who we are and who we want to be, we can retrain our minds.
Living in Positivity is essential for living a happy fulfilled life. Too often everyone is told untruths about themselves and it sticks in our minds . . . It's time to get rid of it! Take charge of your life. You need to put affirmations where ever you frequent—through out your home and office and even your car. But you have to speak it and believe it.
Visit www.myiclouds.com and take a look at the many versions of affirmations you
can obtain. These are non-adhesive static cling clouds (instead of sticky notes or paper you put up with tape), re-usable as well as removable. Use them to meditate and practice your own positive self talk and live your best life now.
